The challenge
This forex tools and education brand ran on WooCommerce and was losing carts with no recovery at all. Every abandoned checkout was revenue walking out the door, and nothing was set up to bring any of it back.
What I built
I built a three-email cart recovery sequence with timing tiered to the moment, and a goal step so anyone who buys exits the flow cleanly.
- A 3-hour soft reminder while intent is still warm
- A 24-hour value email that answers hesitation
- A 72-hour urgency email to close the gap
- A goal-step exit so buyers stop receiving the sequence
The problem
- Carts abandoned with no recovery at all
- Revenue leaving at checkout, uncaptured
- No timing logic and no exit hygiene
The result
- A 3-email sequence recovering abandoned carts
- Tiered timing from soft reminder to urgency
- Goal-step hygiene so buyers exit cleanly
Results
Tiered timing matters because a cart abandoned three hours ago is a different prospect than one abandoned three days ago. The goal step keeps buyers from getting chased after they have already paid, which is the kind of detail that protects the brand while the sequence does its job.
